TCR and MCR Numbers on Profiles

What do these numbers mean on Bridge Base Online (BBO) and how can they be influenced or changed?

Tournament Completion Rate (TCR) is an automatically computed statistic for everyone who enters a BBO tournament.

It tracks how often a player finishes a tournament he enters.

A TCR of 90% means the player finishes 90% of the tournaments he enters.

TCRs are tracked on a rolling 60 days basis, and include all tournaments played on BBO. A minimum of 10 tournament entries is needed before a TCR score can be computed. Finishing the tournament you enter means you get a +1, while not completing the tournament you enter means you get a -1. This is true for any tournament in which your bailing inconveniences other players or TDs, (e.g., any ACBL pairs or Individual, any BBO Turkiye or other private club pairs or Individual game, any Free tourney pairs).

If you do enter a tournament where whether you complete or not

 inconvenience other players or TDs, you will not receive a -1 to your TCR if you fail to complete this tournament, but will still receive a +1 if you complete it (e.g., any Robot Reward or Robot Duplicate or Bridge Bingo tournaments).

Substitutes do not get penalized if they fail to complete a tournament due to being replaced by the tournament director, but if they complete the tournament in which they are subbing, it counts as a plus for their TCR. Subbing is an excellent way to increase your TCR percentage.

Tournament directors can also select a minimum TCR score for their tournaments, and then only qualifying players will be able to register in these tournaments.

Main Completion Rate (MCR) is an automatically computed statistic for everyone who plays normal games on BBO in the Main or Relaxed Bridge rooms.

It tracks how often a player finishes a hand he begins.

A MCR of 99% means the player finishes 99% of the hands he begins.

MCRs are tracked on a rolling 30 day basis, and includes all normal club hands played in BBO. A minimum of 10 hands begun is needed before a MCR score can be computed. To begin a hand means you make your first bid on the hand. To complete the hand means you sit and play until the next hand is dealt. Finishing the hand you begin earns you a +1. Bailing before the hand is completed (i.e., before the next hand is dealt), means you get a -1. If the hand is redealt, no penalties are assigned.
